Gifted Hands
Gifted Hands, born Immanuel Mitchell, is an American motivational hip-hop artist and songwriter known for creating clean, inspirational music rooted in transparency, faith, and lived experience. He began making music at age 12, and by 15 while navigating waves of depression he discovered songwriting as a lifeline. What started as lyrics written by his older brother quickly became his own voice: honest, hopeful, and committed to uplifting anyone willing to listen.
A Virginia Beach native and 2014 graduate of Landstown High School, Gifted sharpened his craft through talent shows and early releases. His first singles, “Work With” and “Don’t Let Em Stop You” (2017), paved the way for the EP Look Ma, No Hands (2018), followed by Mr. Nice Guy (2019) and the vulnerable single “Tryin’ Not to Lose Hope” (2020).
In 2022, Gifted Hands reached a global breakthrough with “Why Not Start,” a viral anthem that spread across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, touching millions and inspiring listeners worldwide. The song’s impact remains one of the defining moments of his career, cementing him as a voice of perseverance and purpose.
He continued building momentum in 2023 with the anthem “How You Make It” and the heartfelt single “What’s Love.” That same year, he performed at Special Olympics Virginia events and collaborated with Grammy Award–winning producer Timbaland for a special interview and visual performance.
In 2024, Gifted released his debut album Childhood Trauma, a deeply personal project confronting the wounds many people carry and encouraging listeners to begin their healing journey. The album marked a new level of vulnerability and storytelling in his artistry.
In 2026, Gifted Hands followed up with his second album, God Saved My Life Through Music, a powerful testimony-driven project that reflects his growth, faith, and purpose. The album expands on his mission to inspire, offering listeners a raw look at how God used music to rebuild his life and guide his calling.
